romney. he's got three stops in florida today. he was in ohio yesterday collecting supplies and thanking supporters for helping those storm victims and also avoiding questions about fema, the federal emergency management agency and their response to the storm. meantime, president obama probably won't be back on the campaign trail until tomorrow in colorado at the earliest. today, as you mentioned, he's visiting new jersey and getting a pat on the pack from new jersey governor chris christie who says the president has done an outstanding job so far with the recovery effort after the storm. meantime, the president will not be visiting new york city. mayor bloomberg says they have a lot to do in terms of trying to handle a presidential visit at this time. >> thanks so much. let's get back to sandy, two of the three major airports serving the new york area will start to reopen late they are morning. the super storm created a worldwide ripple effect for travelers. many of whom are still stranded overseas. let's check in with michelle kosinski who is handling those events from london.

in the last couple of weeks, the last couple days really. they're trying to undermine obama's message that the although bailouts were great for the state of ohio. that has proven to be very, very strongly that for the president. something that has vaulted him up among voters who he probably -- who he is not doing well with when other parts of the country, this sort of white working-class voters in specifically northeastern ohio. those voters are the ones who benefit the most from the success of the auto companies. so now the republicans need to sort of base that argument. they need to make it known to other ohio voters the although bailout was and great for the state and didn't do everything it possibly could. this is -- the advertisements are running is based on the bloomberg report that has been since corrected. it's not good for the campaign to have the ceos of two major companies, car companies in ohio in the state where 100 something thousand jobs are based on the auto industry coming out saying this claim isn't true. we aren't going to build jeep silver and china or ship jobs ov

obviously important. florida, virginia, certainly ohio. but look at these numbers. this is from the new nbc "the wall street journal" poll in iowa obama 50%, romney 44%. much closer in new hampshire. obama 49%, romney 47% within the sampling error. wisconsin similarly 49%, 46%. these states are pretty important as well. >> every state. all of these battleground states are very important. there are different permutations to get to the all important 270. you look at a tiny state like new hampshire which is so close, four electoral votes, wolf, but it's the last place mitt romney is going to visit before he goes home to boston to vote. the president's going to be there. this could be the difference in the electoral college. if you look at iowa and wisconsin, two other numbers you just threw out there. iowa and wisconsin very important part of the president's firewall in the midwest. for example, should he lose florida, iowa and wisconsin very important. same thing with ohio. both of them -- both those states important to both of these candidates. and of course wisconsin -- in wisconsin
